Forging nuts; forging-dies.-Blanks are cut from a bar, heated and pressed successively between side dies 3<A>, 3<B> ... 3F, top dies 12 and a bed 13 which is reciprocated to feed the blanks when the dies open. In the surface of the bed 13 is a disk 38 which has a gear 39 engaging a fixed rack 40, so that as the blank is transferred from the dies 3<C> to 3<D> it is also rotated. The dies 3<D>, 3<E>, 3<F> are also divided in the middle of their sides, while the dies 3<A>, 3<B>, 3<C> are divided across the corners, so that burrs formed in the first dies are removed in the final dies. The blanks are pierced, in two stages, by punches 32, 33 which, with the dies 12, are operated through the parts shown by eccentrics 24. The dies 3<A> ... 3<F> are operated by cams 4, 10 and toggles 6, 7, the bed 13 by a cam 29.
