[Also in Division F1] A fluid dispensing valve structure for a pressurized container comprises a shell adapted to be positioned and retained by a resilient member at an opening of the container and to be pivotally movable, and a plug movable within the shell and forming a seal internally of the shell for an outlet orifice of the shell, the arrangement being such that upon pivoting of the shell within the resilient member, the shell acts upon the plug to cause it to pivot away from the orifice to permit discharge of fluid from the orifice. A cap 13, Fig. 3, secured to the container top 11 by a rolled-over rim 14 and a gasket 15 carries a resilient seal 19 within which a shell 20 is located in a normally upright position. The shell and cap are of metal or rigid plastics material. A plug 24 which is slidable within the shell 20 normally engages a seal ring 23 to close the discharge orifice 21. For ease of cleaning, the tip of the plug may extend into or through the discharge orifice. When the shell 20 is tilted, as shown, a flange 28 entsh shrd etao shrd etao shrd etaoi shrd eta dl gages the conical or flared side wall 16 of the cap 13 and slides along the side wall to open the valve. Fluid then passes into the hollow plug 24 at 27 and out of it at 26 (or passes around the plug if it is not hollow) and is discharged through the orifice 21. The plug may be solid, with the tip (or all the plug except the flange) of rubber or of flexible plastics, and the seal ring 23 may then be omitted. In another embodiment, Fig. 9, the cap 51 projects into the container 50, relative movement between the plug 58 and the shell 54 being effected by engagement of a flange 61 with the preferably flat base 52 of the cap. As shown, the resilient seal 53 in which the shell 54 is seated may be extended under the base 52 for engagement by the flange 61. In Fig. 12, the container 80 is formed to support a member 81 which supports or locates resilient seal rings 83, 85 and a rigid ring 84 of metal, plastics or hard rubber. Flanges 87, 89 of the shell 86 and plug 88 are located between the rings as shown. Fig. 13 shows a modification which may be applied to any of the preceding embodiments to ensure closure of the valve, comprising a compression spring or, as shown, a slug 108 of rubber or the like which is seated between the plug 101 and a support member 105. Fig. 17 shows a modification for effecting break-up of the fluid, comprising straight or helical channels 114 formed in the plug 112. Channels which may be disposed at an angle to impart swirl may instead be formed in the resilient seal 113.
