[Class 135.] A thermally actuated safety cut-off valve for gas burners has the tubular expansion element 5 arranged to serve as a supply conduit for the pilot burners and has the main gas cock 2 and the safety cut-off valve 3 arranged in a casing detachably secured to the main burner tube. The tube 5 which is fitted with a calibrated orifice 7 and pilot burner jets 8 is supported by a tube 6 secured to the valve casing. The free end of the tube 5 engages a lever 4 associated with the spindle of the cut-off valve. The main gas cock in addition to the main passages has passages 10, 11, 12 adapted to be brought into communication with passages 13, 14 whereby a supply of gas may be passed to the burners 8 for initially opening the cut-off valve.
